Installation
What you Need
GigE Network Adapter
Genie Nano 10G connects to a dedicated Gigabit Network Adapter (NIC) on a host computer. If the computer already has a NIC connected to a corporate or external network, the computer will require a second adapter not connected to the network. Follow instructions from the NIC supplier to install your adapter. See GigE Network Adapter Installation for configuration.
Cables
-
CAT6 or better Ethernet cable(s). The cable should not be more than 100 meters (328 feet) long.
-
GPIO cable, if powered through I/O. See Optional Cable Accessories.
Ethernet Switch (Optional)
The camera may be connected to the NIC directly or indirectly through an Ethernet switch. A PoE switch may be used to power the camera. The switch must be connected to the dedicated NIC.
Power Supply or Power Injector
The camera can be powered using either a power supply through its I/O interface, or a PoE switch (or Ethernet power injector). Power supply must meet the requirements defined in section Input Signals Electrical Specifications.

CAUTION |

|
Connect power via the I/O or PoE, not both. Although the has protection, differences in ground levels may cause operation issues or electrical faults, resulting in camera faults or failure. |
See Network Hardware Considerations for additional information.
Installation Steps
Installation requires the following steps:
-
